What We Crawl

Internal Discovery

Just like Googlebot, our crawler starts at your homepage and follows standard HTML <a href> links. We safely ignore external links to focus only on your domain's architecture.

Indexability Checks

We parse the <head> of every page to find meta name="robots" content="noindex" tags. This helps you ensure you aren't accidentally blocking important pages from search engines.

Platform Fingerprinting

Our crawler analyzes the HTML source code to automatically detect if your site is running on Shopify, WordPress, Magento, Next.js, or other major CMS platforms.

Meta Tag Extraction

We extract the exact Title and Meta Description being served to bots. Export this data to CSV to perform a bulk audit of your on-page SEO.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the crawler stopping at a certain number of pages?

To keep this free utility fast and prevent server abuse, our live crawler is capped at a specific page limit per execution (usually around 30 pages).

Does this execute JavaScript?

No. Our crawler fetches the raw HTML payload from your server. If your website relies entirely on client-side JavaScript rendering (like an un-optimized React SPA) with no Server-Side Rendering (SSR), the crawler will see a blank page.

Can it bypass Cloudflare or Firewalls?

Our crawler identifies itself properly but does not attempt to bypass robust anti-bot protections. If your firewall aggressively blocks automated traffic, the crawl may fail.

What does 'Indexability' mean in the report?

Indexability indicates whether search engines are allowed to store your page. If our crawler detects a 'noindex' meta tag in the HTML, we flag the page as non-indexable.

Why are my meta descriptions missing?

If the crawler reports missing meta descriptions, it means the `<meta name="description">` tag is either absent from your HTML or injected via client-side JavaScript which our crawler doesn't execute.

Can this tool find broken links?

Currently, this specific tool focuses on extracting metadata and platform details for valid pages. To find broken links (404s), you should use a dedicated broken link checker or review your Google Search Console.
